How to Use Map Transaction Category
The Map Transaction Category feature allows you to automatically categorize transactions from a spreadsheet. Our AI engine analyzes your data and assigns each transaction to a relevant category, saving you significant time and effort.
You can either use our default chart of accounts or upload your own custom chart of accounts to ensure the transactions are mapped to categories that are specific to your business needs.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Upload Your File: Begin by uploading your spreadsheet. The system supports CSV file format.
- Indicate Document Type: Tell the AI the type of document you've uploaded. This helps the AI understand the transaction patterns and improves the accuracy of the categorization process.
- Start the Mapping Process: Preview your data to ensure everything looks correct. If you're ready to proceed, click Map to CoA (Chart of Accounts) to begin the mapping.
- Review the Categorization: The AI will process your data and present its categorization. You will be able to review the mapping for each transaction. For full transparency, the AI provides two key pieces of information:
- Confidence Level: A score indicating how confident the AI is with its categorization for each transaction.
- Explanation: A brief explanation of why a specific category was chosen, helping you understand the logic behind the AI's decision.
- Edit and Finalize: You have complete control to overwrite or edit any of the categories selected by the AI. Once you are satisfied with the categorization, click Confirm and Download to get your finalized file.
